Negative experience: I think if you want a quick sale, then this is the company to use! However, you may end up getting €60,000 less than what your property is actually worth. Selling a property takes time and possibly needs to be shown to 10 to 15 different potential buyers. I believe that most Auctioneers and estate agents are not prepared to put the work in and are only looking for a " quick flip". Therefore, they frequently under-value a property to achieve this. In fast, and out fast! The idea that they want to get you the highest price because they are on a percentage commission is an 'illusion'. Here, they want to get you the highest price for the least amount of work! Here, this price can well be tens of thousands less than the real market value! Tip. 1. Give yourself lots of time to sell so that you get the best price. 2. Get a valuation from five or six different agents but remember that they all may be playing the same game! 3. Do not get LOCKED into a sales agreement that is open ended. Set an agreed time period. Example, if not sold after 6 months at agreed price you get to walk away. Remember, any fool can sell a property for €50K less than market value!

Negative experience: Absolutely atrocious customer service and complete lack of professionalism. I first contacted in the beginning of June, despite taking details numerous times (which the secretary could not find despite receiving the details on 3 separate occasions) they ensured a quick callback from the agent , almost 4 months later and numerous attempts at contact and still no reply despite the agent engaging with another client less than a few hundred metres away. I would not recommend to this business to anyone. If a business is unwilling or unable to conduct it's services offered it should inform clients/potential clients so they can make an informed decision to choose a professional business.

Fantastic experience: At the end of 2023 Niall Browne in O&J helped sell my first home. Niall was also the auctioneer who sold me the house I was selling over a decade ago. When Niall helped me purchase 11 years ago, I didn’t realise at the time it would turn out to be one of the best bits of advice I have ever received from anyone. Having this asset 11 years later meant my family could afford to move into our new dream home. Although we didn’t even have our new home picked out, Niall gave us excellent advice on how to sell to buy to make sure we are ready to move on a potential purchase in the area we wanted. I must admit It was a bittersweet sales process selling our home where we brought our two boys’ home from NUIG hospital, but Niall was so just fantastic every step of the way. His advice on how to sell without another home to move into, how he helped negotiate with the purchaser to delay the moving in (so we could find a home!), he worked around our young family on viewing times and we were delighted with the final price. My only regret is I should of wrote this review 6 months ago ! Negative experience: Scammers 1st Class! I work in international transport. I came from Europe 3 times for an auction that was supposed to take place in a hotel in Galway. The one-way ferry cost me of €700 +vat, not to mention the fuel it cost me, and the day before the auctions are withdrawn. No responsibility! Someone like that should be transported to a deserted island, where he will not have access to the telephone and the Internet.

Negative experience: Very hard to believe the positive reviews here. O'Donnellan & Joyce were acting as the agent for our landlord abroad and the problems with them were countless. From no electricity for the first 3 days, a leak in the roof that has not been dealt with and caused damage on the inside or not even knowing the legal obligations to collect rental income tax for the landlord, we had pretty much every possible issue with them. Everytime we tried to contact O'Donnellan and Joyce regarding problems or even went to their office in person (multiple attempts! ) , there was an excuse for the agent being unavailable. But at least we received their standard solution - apologies and empty promises. If I could, I would give a star less. At the end I'm just glad that O'Donnellan and Joyce is not involved in anything anymore.

Negative experience: Awful experience renting from O'Donnellan and Joyce. So many issues; lack of communication, unjustified fees and very poorly handled business. They suddenly ended the contract to act as agent to the landlord halfway through it. Once the landlord and I were communicating directly, I discovered O'D&J hadn't been informing the landlord of a number of items which they should have been made aware of (legal obligations of the landlord, structural issues with the property, management fees, etc.). I wrote an official letter of complaint to O'D&J about our experience dealing with them in January and I was going to leave it at that until I heard from a friend that they had the exact same issues in dealing with O'D&J when renting from them very recently in Galway. Therefore, 1 star rating and a warning to anyone else considering renting a property from O'Donnellan and Joyce: Don't.
