We got chatting and i told him I had been thinking of moving for ages but the process seemed too daunting and i didnt know where to start. John reassured me and gave me the confidence to go ahead. From.the outset working with John and his team was seemless, professional, warm and friendly. I worked mainly with John and Tom and found them excellent, always at the end of the phone and always on top of things. If i rang the office the team knew exactly what was happening. Negative experience: Very unprofessional and caught in a lie. I was looking to buy a do-er upper home by myself , John said he would only be able take a bid if I did a structural report. Me being young , totally green and accommodating I accepted in paying €450 to one of his friends for a report. I could only make a renovation feasible if I would qualify for the home vacancy grant. Before I started any process with John I asked him, and also his wife on two occasions each …if the house was vacant for 2yrs. They assured me it was each time , then once I got the report done and put in a few bids, he contacted my mortgage broker to recommend that it would not be a “feasible investment” for me. My mortgage broker pulled support immediately for any potential renovation,and then John rang me a day later to say that unfortunately the house wasn’t in fact vacant with two years afterall. He told me he had a cash buyer ready to go more on the bidding, and was eager to close as it was a bank sale. I was quite disgusted and disappointed …and knowing I was being misled ,I gave up. A day or so later I knocked on a few doors of some very helpful neighbours, they got me in contact the seller of the property (who was extremely obliging) … they assured me it most definitely wasn’t a bank sale…and that they were not in any rush whatsoever to close. I wished the person luck with the sale and just stated I simply wanted to find out if I was misled or not. Unprofessional and misleading. I may be young,but I worked hard ,saved hard and am very honest with anyone I come across.A very unpleasant experience

Fantastic experience: It was a pleasure to have dealt with Tom. He agreed to meet us on a Saturday morning before Christmas to allow us a viewing of the house that interested us. It was so easy to contact him directly by phone and when the keys were being handed over, it was a lovely touch to receive a card and a bottle of prosecco as well.

Positive experience: Showed up to view a house I was interested in. Now, at no time was it ever stated it would be a group / open house type scenario, but as more and more cars appear followed eventually by the agent, we just left. Had I known in advance, I could have just declined and not wasted my time trying to shuffle around a small house with 5 families present. Edit: Received a clarification response from the owner John Rohan. Whilst having not enjoyed the experience at the viewing, Mr Rohan was very fair in his response, hence I have moderated the review and we can move on.

Negative experience: !!Avoid!! Was supposed to have a viewing for a property through this agency. We went to the property and had the owner tell us(after waiting there for half an hour) the day viewings were cancelled. This agency didn't update us about this. So we traveled cities and made costs to get there for a viewing that wasn't there. When we went to their office they were completely uncooperative to refund our travel costs.(We had to come from a different city with public transport). It was impossible. Avoid this company at all costs!!! They will not follow the agreements made to you!!! Avoid John Rohan, this company will set you up and will waste your time and money!!!

Negative experience: I don't have words to describe how bad the process was to buy a property through Sherry Fitzgerald. After over 1 year waiting for a property, the entire process of dealing with the agency and O'Leary construction was an absolute nightmare. They were very disrespectful and unprofessional. I would not recommend them to anyone!!

Negative experience: Service started off in a very Good way, once deal is agreed agent's (not John) attitude towards us have changed. If you're a foreign national, be cautious dealing with the agent. Put your feet on the ground firmly when you need something done.

Positive experience: This agency found a new (huge!!) apartment for me and my kid in the middle of a pandemic. Due to the covid circumstances it took a while to get the ball rolling, but eventually all got sorted out for me and me and the kid couldn't be happier in our new home. It is reasonably priced in times like these and everyone I was dealing with was helpful and super friendly. Negative experience: Absolutely disgraceful conduct.I was interested in property this agency advertised.I called numerous times, left my phone number,email address and financial position, which is ready to go.Never got call back or email ,even though I was continually reassured that they will be in touch with me.It has been more than a month now ,they still haven't got back to me.Agents like this add to the general public opinion, that real estate agents aren't trustworthy neither professional.

Negative experience: Is the boom back that they are too busy to call you back? Called last week, oh John is not available, I will get him to call you, ok, here is my number, oh perhaps you can call him. Finally got a number, left a message, still waiting....they don't reply to emails either. I wanted to buy and also to sell one property independent of one another. Just to update, its taken a bad review for them to respond to me. 2 phone calls and an email asking why nobody was returning my calls wasn't enough. The first time I called he was at a viewing so he wasn't on holidays. I have found another auctioneer who is dealing with my sale. Missed a cheap purchase but there will be more.
